This is a philanthropic organization of the faithful Greek Orthodox women across the United States which promotes the charitable, benevolent and philanthropic purposes of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America by instructional programming, presentations, lectures, seminars and other educational resources.

They voluntarily aid the poor, the destitute, the hungry, the aged, the sick, the unemployed, the orphaned, the imprisoned, the widowed, the handicapped, the victims of disasters, to undertake the burial of impoverished persons and to offer assistance to anyone who may need the help of the Church through special funds or solicitations on the local level.

Our Local Chapter –
THE PHILOPTOCHOS SOCIETY of St. George

Our Local chapter of the Philoptochos society is deeply involved in providing for those who seek the assistance of the Church financially, both members of the Parish as well as people from the local community. It has established a food pantry and offers food to families in need. It has repeatedly come to the aid of families and individuals who had faced a family or personal disaster. Members of the Society visit on a regular basis the shut-ins and those in the hospitals. They provide companionship and share the bulletins and other news of the Parish with them.
