This is a beautiful
effort at preserving the traditional Greek Folk Dancing
and authentic costumes from various parts of Greece.
It is a lot of fun for those who participate and a
wonderful community service. The Dancers perform for
functions at our parish, in parish and cultural functions
within our community and many local events in the
nearby cities.
Hellenic Dance Festival 2009 Patrida Our
high school group went to the Hellenic Dance Festival competition
which took place in Atlanta, GA in January 2009.
They represented St. George in the Intermediate Category in
Division 1.
They won three gold medals in this category. They were for: 1.
Best Costume 2. Folk Expression (singing) and 3.
Dance.
